The international airports of Cuba

Cuba has several international airports that can accommodate large aircraft. Airports are air conditioned and many services like bars, restaurants, restrooms, shops, etc.. for your last minute shopping before going back home.

The variety of products is sometimes quite restricted. HOWEVER, if you purchase alcohol or tobacco during your stay in Cuba, it is best to buy these items at the duty free shop, you'll save a bit compared to prices at the hotels. You can pay with your credit card at the duty-free shops.

For example, the price of a 750 ml bottle of a 7-year old Havana Club at the hotel is 11.90 CUC (2009) and 11.30 CUC to the duty-free shop (Varadero airport).

Some airports do not have docks to connect to the door(s) of the airplane. In this case, you walk on the runway between the aircraft and the terminal. Usually It is not permitted to take photo outdoors and before passing through customs.

Some airports also offer a VIP service for 20 CUC (transfer, priority check-in, conditioned air in private lounge with comfortable chairs, open bar, snacks, etc.) You buy this VIP service with the tour operator representative at destination.
